Self-Limiting Behaviors

Self-Limiting Behaviors

I have recently noticed a trend people saying they can’t or won’t do something.  Self-limitations are the hardest to overcome.  We often put limits on what we will do because thinking we really can’t.  Trying new exercise activities, new recipes, new foods and new experiences are good for us, we learn, we grow.  We should be growing and learning every day!  I have found the times when I am doing the same things over and over, I feel like I am in a rut and get the blues.

“I do not like change!”

Really?  Life is all about changes.  In fact, the only thing that is constant in life is change.  Why not choose your change and make it positive! Change does not have to be negative! Choosing to devote time to moving your body is a positive choice!  Choosing to live a healthier life style is a positive change!  Choosing to join Weight Watchers is a positive change!

Not Using Your Resources

Another self-limiting behavior is not using your resources.  Many people have great resources of information about; healthy eating, fitness and good nutrition and do not use them!   Some who join Weight Watchers who seem to think that just by joining they will lose weight! Not true!  As they say ‘you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink!”  Same with weight loss!  If you are not willing to put forth effort to thoroughly read and follow your materials, attend your meetings, honestly track, add movement to your day, measure and weigh your foods and follow the good health guidelines every day; success will continue to evade you!
