My Baby Steps Journey – Week 6

Progress Reports

Hard to believe I am already into this six weeks! I feel better about myself. Still not happy with my clothing fit but I know that will take time to improve. I am looking forward to getting back to the office on a full time and joining the gym again. I know that will help as long as I can get the food intake under control too.


My Progress for the 6th week:

Water Intake —- B+

  • I did better than last week but still have room for a lot of improvement!
  • GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK– drinking lots of water!

No snacking after 7:00pm—- A-

  • I was successful 5 nights of 7 so there is room for improvement!
  • GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – See how many nights I can see success at 7:00pm! See if I an make it 6 nights or more!

Increasing Steps — A+

  • DAILY STEP PROGRESS
    • Friday, May 21 – over my daily goal!!! +4289 steps!!!!!
    • Saturday, May 22 – over my daily goal!!! +583 steps!!!
    • Sunday, May 23 – over my daily goal!!!! +1964 steps!!!
    • Monday, May 24 – over my daily goal!! +1233 steps!!!
    • Tuesday, May 25 – over my daily goa!! +25 steps! (not a lot extra……but I made it!)
    • Wednesday, May 26 – over my daily goal!! +2388 steps!!!!
    • Thursday, May 27 – over my daily goal!! +2927 steps!!!!
  • I did manage to hit my goal every day over the last week!!! For the first time in ages, I had over 70K steps in a week! Meaning I averaged 10k steps a day!
  • GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – Keep going and see if I can do another 7 days out of 7 this next week! This is a great improvement from the recent past, I was not reaching my step goal more days than not!

Portion Sizes —- B

  • I tried to be mindful of the amount of food I was eating and maybe half the week I was able to ask myself “why am I wanting to eat this?” Wasn’t

NEW GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK: To keep up doing all of the above! and improving in all areas!

Positive Experiences/Outcomes for the week

I went to a shopping mall and did some clothes shopping for the first time in over a year! (Close to a year and a half!) It felt wonderful to be out and about! The stores did not require masks but chose to wear them anyway!

My Progress for the 5th week:

Water Intake —- B+

I did little better than the previous week but still need to focus more on water intake.

GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK– drinking lots of water!

No snacking after 7:30pm—- A

Felt pretty good about not snacking after 7:30 pm this past week; I think most nights I was successful at not snacking after 7:00pm even!! Progress!!!

GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – See how many nights I can see success at 7:00pm!

    • Friday, May 14 – under daily goal; had virtual meetings 😦 555 steps under
    • Saturday, May 15 over my daily goal!!! +871 steps!
    • Sunday, May 16 – under goal 😦 (did not feel well) 1753 under
    • Monday, May 17 – over daily goal!! +1728 over
    • Tuesday, May 18 – over daily goa!! +985 over
    • Wednesday, May 19 – over daily goal!! +1607 over

  • GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – Keep the new goal going and and see if I can do 7 days out of 7 this next week! This is a great improvement over a month ago. A month ago I was barely if not reaching my step goal more days than not!

I was more more mindful of my portion sizes and turned down “seconds” a few times but still need to be more consistent.

Positive Outcomes for the week

I was able to finally put a very negative AC experience behind me this week. I felt I could smile again and found myself smiling more than normal on my way to work on Wednesday. I was happy to be going and it felt good to feel the sunshine had returned to my life again. This Wednesday and Thursday were my first days back in the offices without having to wear a face mask as I am fully vaccinated. It felt so good!!!! The picture of the baby below is how I have felt this week since wrapping up the AC situation and being able to move about without a mask!

My Progress for the 4th week:

Water Intake —- B-

I did not do very well with my water intake except for a couple of days. Have to do much better!

GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK– drinking lots of water!

No snacking after 7:45pm—- A

Overall did pretty good with this one this past week. I might try moving it to 7:30pm to see how I do with a wee bit earlier time!

GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – 1 slip up or less and stopping 15 minutes earlier.

  • DAILY STEP PROGRESS
    • Friday, May 7 – did not hit my goal was about 800 steps shy
    • Saturday, May 8 – over my daily goal +32 steps
    • Sunday, May 9 – under goal by 1400 steps
    • Monday, May 10 – over daily goal +881 steps
    • Tuesday, May 11 – over daily goal +1200 steps
    • Wednesday, May 12 – over daily goal +798 steps
    • Thursday, May 13 – over daily goal +3866 steps This day was over 12K steps; my best day in a while!
  • GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – Keep the new goal going and and see if I can do 7 days out of 7 this next week!

Positive Outcomes for the week

Went to a Ladies Tea Event and had a great time! The food was great but not any kind of “diet” in sight that day! It was a taste of getting back to doing and being more normal. So happy that the CDC announced yesterday that those who have been fully vaccinated can ease off on mask wearing! Yay!!!

The Baby Steps Journey – Week 3


My Progress for the third week:

Water Intake —- A

I feel I need to keep a stronger focus on this! Florida weather is getting pretty hot outside now and hydration is even more important!

GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK– keep on drinking lots of water!

No snacking after 7:45pm—- A

I revised this to be more obtainable and it was! Brushing my teeth at 7:45pm is a good way to keep from snacking! I did have one slip up with a marshmallow right at 7:45 one night but made sure I reached for something healthier if I was close to 7:45! Mandarin Orange are a great healthy snack!

GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – 1 slip up or less

Increasing Steps —— A

I managed to hit my new increased step goal for 6 days of 7! One day I did not quite make it but the next day I exceeded my goal.

GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK – Keep the new goal going and and see if I can do 7 days out of 7 this next week!

NEW GOAL FOR NEXT WEEK: To keep up doing all of the above and start keeping a closer tab on portion sizes!

Positive Outcomes for the week

I felt overall better about my food choices and activity levels. Since I am fully vaccinated, I felt better about getting out and shopping at a clothing store for the first time in over a year and it felt good to get around and look at things. While I did not end up spending a penny, it was fun to get out again! I have done most of my shopping online for the last 15 months so it was nice to go places besides the grocery store, doctor, dentist, etc.
